I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years in the field and bring extensive clinical knowledge and real-world perspective to each therapeutic relationship. Over the years, I’ve learned that meaningful therapy isn’t about applying the same technique to every person. It’s about understanding the individual—their experiences, relationships, values, challenges, and the life they hope to create.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Bryn Mawr College in 1997 and have spent more than three decades helping adolescents, adults and families navigate emotional, behavioral, relational and life challenges. A significant part of my career has been devoted to working as a school counselor in a specialized high school program, supporting adolescents with social, emotional, and behavioral needs while also partnering closely with their families during some of life’s more complicated moments.
My experience later expanded into virtual private practice where I provided therapy to adolescents and adults through a large telehealth platform. That experience reinforced how meaningful and effective therapy can be in a virtual setting and ultimately inspired me to create Calcite Wellness. I wanted to build something smaller and more personal—a practice where I could maintain a limited caseload and provide virtual therapy in the way I believe it works best: thoughtfully, collaboratively, and with genuine human connection and not directed by insurance directives. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can exhale, be yourself, and talk openly without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out.
My approach is guided by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and relational therapy. Rather than focusing solely on eliminating uncomfortable thoughts or emotions, we’ll work on changing your relationship with them, understanding what matters most to you, and helping you move toward a life that feels more authentic and meaningful. Together, we’ll create space to better understand yourself, build greater flexibility in how you respond to life’s challenges, and develop practical tools that support lasting growth and meaningful change.
When I’m not working, you’ll often find me enjoying a weekend at the shore, catching a comedy show or live music, or wandering through a farmers’ market - usually for much longer than I planned! While I love discovering new places and experiences, I’m equally happy with the simple things - a slow morning with nowhere to be, a good playlist, and a second cup of tea. I’m the proud mom of two adult daughters, who keep life interesting and conversations lively!
